Nike’s 9-11 Run Across America was more than a tribute—it was a moment of national reflection. Watson created a memorial for this event, drawing inspiration from a small JPEG of a Kansas fireman who ran in full gear. This image was transformed into a 36-inch metal circle, designed with a local metal company and placed in Nike’s Prefontaine Building before later moving to Bo Jackson. For Matt Watson, this project carried deep significance—having lived in New York City during 9-11, witnessing the second plane hit the World Trade Center. This memorial captured the gravity of the event and the resilience of those who ran in remembrance.
