Watson
Open Studio

Step inside the creative process.

Watson Open Studio began through our work with Oregon State University and the design thinking community there, but it is open to students and recent graduates from any university, anywhere in the world. This virtual job shadow program is built for emerging creatives who want to see how strategy, design, writing, digital, marketing, and client work come together in the real world.

What It Is

Watson Open Studio is a monthly virtual program for college students and recent graduates within one year of graduation. Each 60-minute session is led as a conversation between Matt Watson, Greg Needham, and selected guests from Watson, partner agencies, clients, or the broader creative community. Topics will vary by month, but each session is designed to give students a practical look at design thinking, creative process, agency life, career paths, and the real decisions behind the work. The program is free to apply for and participate in, pending approval and completion of a required NDA and confidentiality agreement.

We’re excited to welcome curious students and recent graduates into Watson Open Studio, to share what we’ve learned, open a few doors, and help the next generation of creative talent carry that generosity forward.

Make It Simple.
Make It Matter.

To Matt, less isn’t less—it’s honest. Clean lines, quiet confidence, and substance that doesn’t need spectacle. His design principles reflect his leadership style: thoughtful, focused, and grounded in what matters.
